Pitztal Glacier

Active holidays at the top of Tyrol

Glaciers are natural phenomena which have fascinated humans for millennia with their shimmering world of eternal ice. The Pitztal Glacier near the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is a fine example and one of the most impressive glaciers in Tyrol. During the winter months it has 40 kilometres of ski pistes, while in summer visitors have the opportunity to hike on the glacier and explore its mysterious ice caves.

Skiing on the Pitztal Glacier

Ski all the way down to the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten

Snowsure conditions from September until May and spectacular views of the mountains, including the mighty Wildspitze (3,774m), make glacier skiing an unforgettable experience.

Wintersports enthusiasts can choose between downhill, freeriding, freestyle and cross-country skiing. A free ski bus gives skiers and boarders quick and easy access to the slopes.

The ideal location of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten next to the Rifflseebahn cable car makes it an ideal base camp for skiers and snowboarders in winter. From December until April it is possible to ski or board all the way down to the hotel.
