The Pitztal Valley is one of those few places where humans have left little trace. The best way to explore the valley is on foot – be it hiking in summer or snowshoeing in winter. The valley has been part of the Kaunergrat Nature Park since 1998 and places great importance on biodiversity and protecting the environment.

Living in the moment but thinking of the future – that is what sustainability means to us. That is why we have put in place many measures to reduce our carbon footprint and use the Earth's natural resources in the most efficient way possible. We use zero fossil fuels for heating, with our hotel being kept nice and warm instead by burning wood pellets. The electricity for our e-bike charging station is generated by solar panels. After a long ride in the mountains, why not treat yourself to a beauty treatment using local herbs and resins?

Give your car a holiday
Eco-friendly hotel
We will be happy to advise you on the most climate-friendly way to get to our hotel. Once you are here you will be able to get around without a car. In summer, guests get a Pitztal Summer Card giving free access to the valley's public transport network. In winter your lift pass also entitles you to use the ski bus free of charge – or simply walk the short distance from the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten to the Rifflseebahn cable car.
